ALTERED CARBON CODAS
The Codas for Altered Carbon were a series of short pieces which played at the end of each episode. They hinted at the upcoming themes in the next episode and were intended to be fleeting clues.

Each Coda was Illustrated by the talented Paul Pope. We then took these and created 3D models of the illustrations to simulate fireflies drawing on each composition.

The result was a set of 10 second particle simulations which each had a deeper meaning to the show at large.
CODA BREAKDOWN EXAMPLES
All the coda simulation was created in X-Particles and Cinema 4D. Collision mesh was created in ZBrush and comp was done in After Effects with some final finishing in Nuke.
VIRTUAL REALITY TRANSITIONS
This was a transition style created to show entering and leaving the virtual reality environments of the show.
FAUX ADs
These were created to help flesh out the world of Altered Carbon by creating new products and advertising to be playing in the environment.
